CALL TO ACTION!

It has been public knowledge for quite some time that the Market Square shopping center on Timberlane Rd. was sold to developers. Although they have yet to decide exactly what they will do with the property, it is safe to assume the Farmers Market will be kicked out. The Tallahassee Farmers Market at Market Square is the oldest in Tallahassee and one of the oldest in the state. The area surrounding Market Square has been deemed the "Market District" thanks in part to the Farmers Market's longtime presence there. It is an asset to this community.

The City of Tallahassee recently purchased a swath of land on either side of Maclay Blvd. near Market Square. They plan to build a park similar to Cascades Park in downtown Tallahassee. One of the key features they are considering, is building a space for a farmers market. They are taking input from the public, and now is the time to let them know we want a market there.
